End of Buddhist Lent parade to the temple!

dancing in the streets

The village held a kind of “end of Buddhist lent” fundraiser – at least that’s what I think it was. No matter. It was a lot of fun helping everyone prepare for it and then take part. On the last day, they loaded up all the things that had been donated and there was a long procession through the streets to the temple.

This was in the morning after a breakfast with the temple monks.
I think I counted 6 or 7 pickup trucks loaded down with stuff from pillows to bananas.
hen everyone proceeded to unload all the trucks into the temple
and another ceremony was held by the monks thanking the people for their generosity.
