My first official visit to the Wat

A “wat” is the Buddhist temple complex, usually with several buildings. On this day, one of the English teachers, Sompong, invited me to join his family at the wat for one of the ceremonies.

I was invited to introduce myself to the congregation.
During the service.
The temple altar.
Monks were given food and ate first, then the congregation ate next.
Afterward, the grandmothers wanted to put “good luck” strings on my wrist.
Some of the folks wanted a picture.
