I am thankful for all the friends I made along the way that. The most important part for me is the connection to other people. For me, that is priceless.

Just a quick note about flying from Italy back to the US. Home sweet home.

Spent most of the day riding on top of the tour bus, jumping off when I wanted more pictures. I guess my biggest surprise was the lines to get into St Peters.

Despite the rain I saw a lot including the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Navona Plaza, as well as too many churches, sculptures and fountains.

Left the quiet of Verona for the pandemonium of Rome. Didn’t do much, just check into to my hotel and veg.

At lunch I got to watch the kitchen ballet as Marta, Anatella and their mother handled the noon-time rush. Homemade pasta is prepared fresh every day.

Marta and I toured Verona visiting churches and seeing the old city walls. Even saw a balcony for Romeo & Juliet. And I learned more about her family restaurant

Saying goodbye to my friends in Switzerland, and ciao to my friend Marta in Italy. She is another of my Camino de Santiago friends who I said I would visit.

Another walking-hiking day at Gurnigel where we found snow. The kids were so fascinated by it. A great last day because tomorrow I leave. 🙁

Today’s tour of the Swiss countryside included the Choleren Gorge, with lots of waterfalls. We also saw a looong suspension bridge and Lake Thun.
